1890
1990
The Neotia family’s journey began in the 1890s in Kolkata. By the 1950s, Shri Suresh Neotia, Shri Vinod Neotia, and Shri Bimal Kumar Poddar established RKBK, a Burma Shell franchisee, later diversifying into textiles, collieries, fertilizers, and petroleum. In the mid-80s, they promoted Gujarat Ambuja Cements Limited (GACL) and Macmet India.

2000
Under Harshavardhan Neotia’s leadership, the Group entered real estate and hospitality as Bengal Ambuja Group. Udayan – The Condoville revolutionized social housing via Public-Private Partnership. Raichak on Ganges was launched, and Harshavardhan Neotia led the turnaround of Modi Cement as MD of Ambuja Cement Eastern Ltd. He was honored with the Padma Shri in 1999.
2000
2010
The Group diversified into healthcare with Neotia Bhagirathi Woman & Child Care Centre (NBWCCC) in 2000. City Centre Salt Lake debuted in 2004, redefining retail. By 2006, Ambuja Realty was born, later rebranded as Ambuja Neotia in 2008. Expansion continued across residential, retail, hospitality, and business parks with Swissotel, Ecospace, and City Centres in New Town and Siliguri.
2010
2020
Retail expanded with City Centre Haldia & Raipur, alongside commercial spaces like Ecostation & Ecosuite. Healthcare saw Neotia Getwel Multispecialty Hospital & Genome Fertility Clinic. The Group launched Utalika Luxury, opened boutique hotels AltAir & Raajkutir, and entered the F&B space with Sonar Tori, The Orient, and Afraa. In 2015, The Neotia University was established.
2020
Present
Ambuja Neotia continues to innovate with Utsodhaara Teesta Township, Ecospace Business Towers, and City Centre Patna. Leisure homes debuted with Vanya Awas in Lataguri, and hospitality expanded with partnerships with Taj Group, launching Taj City Centre, Taj Chia Kutir, Taj Guras Kutir, Taj Ganga Kutir and Taal Kutir. The acquisition of Tree of Life Hotels marked its national expansion.
